Farhat Gulzar, Abdul Basit end 14 year streak, clinch Bronze at National Championship

The duo of Farhat Gulzar and Abdul Basit ended 14 year strike by bagging bronze in recently held Junior National Championship 2018.

Last time, it was Umer Hamza who had won gold at Junior National Championship in 2004.

Since then, no men athlete could achieve any such goal in the junior national championship, but Farhat and Basit finally brought an end to an end to the 14 year bald.

Farhat Gulzar participated in 90kg category while as Abdul Basit in 100kg.

“Both the athletes deserve to be hailed for their achievement.” Umar Hamza told KSW.

“Ending 14 year streak means both of them are pretty skilled and talented. I’m very happy for their achievement and hope more junior athletes will take inspiration from these two.” He addedIMG-20180406-WA0002
