9 months on, contractual coaches without salary

The J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC) contractual coaches who were appointed last year are without salary from last nine months.

“A total of 330 National Institute of Sports (NIS) certified coaches were handed over contract letters last year in July. We have been working since then with Council but without receiving any salary,” delegation said.
They further said that they have been pleading their case with Sports Council officials without results.
“It is limited period contract and we should have got salary at the end of every month. Instead we have got nothing. In contrast there are around 50-60 persons working voluntarily with no NIS certificate. These volunteers are given random payment but we have signed the contract have been left high and dry. Our future seems quite bleak,” they said.

Secretary Sports Council Waheed ur Rehman Parra said the proposal has been sent to the higher ups. Besides release of salarty, we have sought extension of the contract,” he said.

Pertinently Council has roped in several employees different departments on deputation and that includes one J&K Bank official who is withdrawing salary to the tune around Rs: 80,000 per month. In that salary these 20 coaches would have been adjusted each month.
