After the intervention by J&K Cricket Association after the media pressure , wicket keeper Farkhandha Khan who had done well during selection trials and practice matches was included in J&K senior Women cricket team.
JKCA selectors had selected the team and had included the wicketkeeper who according to sources had not even attended the selection trials regularly. The player according to sources had also not performed well in practice matches.
As the selectors handed over4 selection list of Kashmir province to JKCA , it raised many questions. Apart from Farkhandha others also objected to the favoritism in the process.
However, on Saturday Farkhandha got call from JKCA was informed that she is in the J&K team for the nationals. JK team will playing Kolkatta for its first match of the One Day campaign at Bengal Cricket Academy Ground, Kalyani on December 6.
“I just fought for my right. I was not against anyone I just did what I thought was my right. The selectors gave their reason for dropping me. They said they chose senior player but then I confronted them. I told them straight does that mean performance value nothing. If that is criteria then when will juniors get chance,” she told KSW.
