The employees had been pleading JKCA to release salary but the latter used to express its inability in lieu of seizure of accounts and non-release of money from BCCI. After that both the parties approached BCCI directly and on Monday the cricket governing body released salary directly to employees.

Confirming this JKCA Vice-Chairman Javed Kitab said, “We sent all details of our liability to BCCI and today they have directly released salary to these employees. It is not only big relief to these employees but to us as well as we were unable to do justice with them”.

“Apart from salary of employees, BCCI is directly taking care of all the expenses of JK cricket teams including Ranji side,” he added.

One of the employee said that it was BCCI head of operations Ratnakar Shetty who took personal interest in the matter.

“We pleaded our case to Ratnakar Shetty and he took personal interest in our case. It was because of his efforts that BCCI acted quickly in our case and today we got our salaries,” employee said. (Courtesy Greater Kashmir)
