Islamia College-XI defeated Islamia College Alumni team by 6 wickets in the final of 11th Prof. Yousuf memorial cricket cup played at Islamia College playfield on Tuesday.
After winning the toss the Islamia College captain invited the Alumni team to bat and they scored 221 in alloted 30 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Javaid with 64 and Umar Nisar with 50 were the prominent scorers. Bilal took 4 and Mehfooz took 1 wicket for Islamia College team.
Chasing a target of 222 runs Islamia College team achieved target with two overs to spare. Skipper Kamram scored 94 and Shezan Dar 52 runs for Islamia College team. Zaid Bhat was adjudged the man of the tournament.
Principal Secretary Higher Education Department Dr. Asgar Hussain Samoon was chief guest on the occasion and gave away the prizes and medals to the players.
The tournament was organised by the Department of Physical Education of the College in which 12 teams of the Kashmir colleges participated.
