Ganderbal Aug 16 : Hundreds of budding football players of district Ganderbal on Wednesday participated in the State football Academy trials in Madr-e-Meharban stadium here.
Star footballer Mehraj din wadooo and Satpal Singh were selection panelists for the trials. Over 700 budding players of various age group ranging from under 17 to under 12 gave trials on first day of two-day trials session. Selection panelist were impressed by love of football in Ganderbal .Player from far flung villages of Sonmarag and Kulan turned up for the trials traveling about 100 KM.
Addressing to players on first day of trials Wadoo said that grass root development is top most priority of SFA .He said that his attention is to develop grass root level football in Kashmir.
He encouraged budding players to play fearlessly and exhibit there natural game. “I am glad to see overwhlinig response for the trails .Ganderbal has got good pool of talent in football and we are here to develop it”
Earlier Wadoo were welcomed by large gathering of fans and footballers with flower bookies. Many of the fans were excited to see wadoo first time and were clicking selfies and asking for autographs.
