WATCH: Shahid Afridi mocked by Afghanistan skipper for a second-ball duck in Afghanistan Premier League

Veteran cricketer and a former captain of the Pakistan national team, Shahid Afridi may have been a master of the shorter formats of the game, but on Friday (October 12), he departed off for a two-ball duck while playing for Paktia Panthers in the ongoing Afghanistan Premier League 2018 against Kandahar Knights at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah in UAE.mocked

In fact, following the dismissal, he was mocked by the Afghanistan cricket team skipper, Asghar Afghan, who had taken the catch.

It was in the 10th over of the innings. Waqar Salamkheil was in the attack against Afridi. And just when the crowd expected him to go all boom boom in the APL 2018 match, he shimmied down the track to strike a biggy, but the tossed-up delivery on the stumps, turned to come off the outside edge of the bat and flew into the sky. Asghar kept an eye on the ball and ran back from cover to take the catch in the deep. Afridi departed for a duck in only his second ball in the match, while Asghar mocked the former Pakistani captain by imitating the veteran’s signature celebratory pose.

With the dismissal, Shahid Afridi became the first cricketer ever to record ducks in all the T20 tournaments in the country including the World Cup and Indian Premier League, where he had participated in the inaugural edition of the league. And that amounts to eight tournaments in all.

Well, for Afridi, it hasn’t been an enjoyable start to APL 2018 for he has managed to score 1, 19, 1*, and now 0. And with the ball, he managed to take just two wickets in the four matches he has played so far in the league this year.
