Sports Council assures support for Indian Cricket Blind team match in Srinagar

J&K State Sports Council has welcomed the proposal of Cricket Association of Blind in India to play friendly cricket match in Srinagar and has assured its full support. This was stated by Secretary Sports Council Waheed ur Rehman Parra in response to a request from the President Cricket Association of Blind in India, Mahantesh GK who in a press statement had expressed desire to organize friendly match in Srinagar.

The secretary of the State sports council which is headed by Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti in a statement issued said,“ I have come to know from the media reports that the Indian cricket blind team at the felicitation at Delhi has expressed the desire to play a friendly match in J&K. they have said that they want boost the morale of youth and express solidarity with the people of the State”.blind

“I would through the medium of this public statement convey our invitation to the team to visit the State and play here. I have also discussed matter with Sports Minister, Imran Reza Ansari and he too is keen that the team visit Srinagar. We shall be more than honored to host team,”Parra said.
