J&K Bank Chairman felicitates Baseerat

Srinagar, Jan 04: Chairman and CEO J&K Bank Parvez Ahmed today felicitated Syed Baseerat Byhaqi who recently bagged the Gold Medal in South Asian Championship of Tong ill moo Do 2016 held in Thimpu Bhutan from December.

Baseerat, a 4th class student is the daughter of J&K Bank staffer Syed Arif Byhaqi who works as an Executive in the Bank.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman said, “J&K Bank has been encouraging and supporting the younger generation of the state while they pursue their goals and ambitions in various fields ranging from education to entrepreneurship and business to sports.”

“We will continue to extend appreciation in different ways to encourage our youth who faced challenges and succeeded despite odds so as to inspire the confidence of others in their own capacities”, he added.  jk-bank-chairmain-felictaes-martail-art-girl

Baseerat won the Gold Medal in international Junior Medium weight category wherein teams from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Malaysia and India participated. She shined throughout the tournament by defeating all the opponents’ particularly the strong rival from Sri Lanka in the finals.

Notably, she has been selected for another international contest to be held in Thailand in May 2017 besides a national level event at Mumbai in April 2017.

The chairman assured her of full support in national and international events to exhibit her talent and realise dream.
