Srinagar, May 8: Having been put into mini security bio-bubble in Delhi after the suspension of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 due to COVID-19, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and his mates left for Maldives .

As per report , Kane WIlliamson and other three Kiwis were not feeling safe (comfortable) in Delhi and opted to move out to Maldives.

The other three cricketers/ suport staff alongwith Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper included Chennai Super Kings Mitchell Santner , Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Kyle Jamison and CSK Physio Tommy Simsek. They all took flight to Maldives .

As per earlier statement issued by New Zealand cricket, the four were supposed to remain in Delhi in a mini bio-bubble until May 10 and take a flight to the UK in order to join rest of the New Zealand squad for World Test Championship .

“Kane and few others from New Zealand weren’t feeling secure in Delhi due to the COVID scenario there. That’s the reason they determined to fly to Maldvies,” a Sunrisers Hyderabad official was quoted by PTI.

The Australian contingent has also flown to the Maldives after the suspension of the IPL as its authorities have banned entry of all travellers from India till May 15. The IPL was suspended on Tuesday after a number of COVID-19 positive cases were detected in its bio-bubble.
