Srinagar, Jan 2: It was another dismal outing from Sports Council Football team (Sports Council Football Academy) as they were handed 3-1 defeat by Downtown Heroes FC in the match of Real Kashmir Cup at Synthetic Turf TRC ground Srinagar on Saturday.
The match was vouched as Grudge Match, with two teams recently having developed a sort of rivalry. While Sports Council Football team is managed by star studded lineup, Downtown Heroes FC have relied on home grown, grass root level attached management.
Despite playing on thier home ground, Sports Council Football team with all the facilities at thier disposal failed to match the level of intensity and energy shown by Downtown Heroes FC in the field.
It was early morning fixture with sun yet to shine in freezing Janaury temperatures.
The first turned out as goalless while as in second half four goals were witnessed.
In first half, due to slippery conditions owing to frosty pitch Sports Council aide failed to convert the chances they got.
At halftime score was 0-0.
In second half, Downtown Heroes FC looked completely different side. They were finding it easy out manuer the Sports Council.
Kisshori scored the opening goal of the match for Downtown. Only minute later Sports Council made it 1-1 . When it looked that contest is back to square one, Aquib scored beautiful goal to give Downtown Heroes 2-1 lead. In close minutes of the game Ayaan scored third goal for the Downtown Heroes FC to make it 3-1 .
After that no goal was scored and Downtown Heroes FC won by 3-1 and cruised into quaterfinal of the tournament.
For Sports Council side it would be disappointing to see themselves lose again on thier home turf despite having lot of talent and heart. Thier is no lack of talent in the team with players having been groomed from early age. However it looks more of a management issue with too many persons at the helm making things difficult.

While they have sports Council coach for the name handling the team, it is not a hidden fact that the things are being dictated from outside and are not under the control of this coach.
