Akber Khan to represent GNDU in Varsity nationals

 

akber-khanSrinagar: International cyclist of valley Akber Khan will be representing GNDU Amritsar in the upcoming Inter-university cycling championship after finishing second in the selection trials conducted by GNDU Amritsar on Sunday.

Akber will be representing GNDU in the event as he has been studying in the GNDu on sports quota. He will be first cyclist from the State to qualify for the GNDU team in the event. In the 22-kilometer event he finished second among 22 other athletes.

“ I have been training in GNDu from last one month as I was offered free admission by the University. I will be representing GNDU in the event and we are hopeful to get medal,” Akber said.

Akber is being sponsored by TCI Max and is the only cyclist of J&K to play in any international event. He is also only double national gold medalist of State.
