In the second match of the Prof. Yousuf Memorial Inter College cricket cup, Fahad of GDC Ganderbal smashed a quick fire 119 in 78 balls to guide GDC Ganderbal to a comfortable win against GDC Pulwama on Thursday at Islamia College ground.
Batting first , owing to 119 run knock by Fahad, Ganderbal scored 231 runs in 30 allotted overs for the loss of 6 wickets.
Chasing a stiff target of 232 runs in 180 balls the Pulwama team initially gave a fight but lost too many wickets in the process. Pulwama could score 207 runs for all wickets. For them Jehangir and Naseer were notable contributors with scores of 31 and 30 runs respectively. For Ganderbal team Shahid took 4 wickets and Danish 2. GDC Ganderbal won by 24 runs.
GDC Shopian will take on Islamia College Alumni in the next match of the tournament on Monday. The tournament is being organized by the department of Physical Education Islamia College Srinagar.
