Cemtac stars lifted the Asif Memorial Wullar Premier league by defeating Baba XI in the finals. Batting first Baba XI posted a below par total of 156 runs against mighty Cemtac Star. Sajad Ahmad and Shabir Ahmad though played some fine knocks but failed to post a formadible total. For Stars, Jehangir, Shahrukh and Aqib took 2 wickets each. In reply, Cemtac Stars chased down the total in just 14 overs with the help of some powerful batting form Jehangir Lone who scored a quick half century, he was well helped by Ishtiyaq Rasool. Jehangir Lone was declared as man of the match award for his 58 runs and two wickets.
Asif Memorial Wullar Premier league was a mega event played at Sheikh Ul Alam Stadium Tarzoo Sopore and was sponsored by Asif Memorial health care, TCI max ,CRI pumps and Tarzoo Sports Association. Gen Secretary JKCA Iqbal Shah and former cricketer Syed Parvez Qaiser were the chief guests at the event and they facilitated players at Final ceremony. Among many awards presented to players, the most valuable award was the Alto car for Man of the tournament and that was presented jointly to Imran Haroon and Ishtiyaq Elahi for their tremendous performances in the event.
Iqbal Shah while speaking at the final ceremony mentioned that he will make full efforts for development of cricket in North Kashmir and provide a turf wicket for concerned ground. At last, Tarzoo Sports Association thanked the honourable Horticulture Minister, Mr Basharat Ahmad Bukhari who helped them in the maintainance of ground and has also promised to provide more facilities for this ground in future.
