We are forced to discontinue team in league: Lone Star to JKFA as another controversy surfaces

Srinagar: In another controversial update in the already controversy plagued J&K Football Association (JKFA) , a prominent football club, Lone Star Kashmir FC has decided to discontinue its team in the ongoing Srinagar Premier League tournament.

Lone Star Kashmir FC, that is known as J&K’s first second division I-League level club, has written a protest letter to JKFA General Secretary , informing him about its decision with some strong points raised.

“With heavy heart and unpleasant circumstances we are forced to discontinue in the present on going premier division League on the following reasons,” Lone Star letter reads.

“In Reference to the letter and our mail  Dated: 19/08/2023 with JKFA about our Premier Division match  v/s AG’S 11 you have failed to decide the matter that has largely deprived and disappointed our boys (players) of LSKFC and had bought their moral down towards the decision made by JKFA,” letter said.

Lone Star Kashmir FC has objected to the denial of permission by JKFA for the tournament in Baramulla.

“In Havell’s Football Tournament in Baramulla, We were invited with honour by them to participate in this tournament and accordingly the permission was sought by us from you which was not granted. This denial of permission on your part is also grave concern for LSKFC,” it said.

In the letter Lone Star has also said that recent Police Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament was not handled well by JKFA.

“With reference to the Police Martyr’s Football Tournament   we were given a position of playing at the qualifying round even being 2nd Division I-League Club. Instead you upgraded that team who has no qualification as such.  This tournament was also organised by you, and we feel the whole Tournament is not being handled well,” it reads.

“Thus, we protest unless and until you don’t rectify your partial treatment towards our boys and our Club we regret further participation in premier division League,” it said.

Lone Star has also reminded JKFA to check what Lonestar Kashmir FC has contributed to the J&K football right from the 2013 till date.

Pertinently JKFA has been without elected body from last more than one year now. Both AIFF and Sports Council have failed to conduct the elections. The JKFA is currently run by General Secretary.
