Srinagar, July 18: Pakistan’s former skipper and current batting coach Younis Khan has recalled the team’s famous that has now became iconic ‘Salute and Push Up’ celebrations after defeating hosts England at Lord’s in 2016.
On the anniversary of the famous win, in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday, Khan said the team wanted to pay tribute to trainers who worked with the during Kakul training camp.
“We had a wonderful training camp in Kakul. The trainers there worked with us too hard and they let us know our strength,” he said.
“We wanted to pay them [trainers] back by not only performing but also doing something special for them. We didn’t expect our celebration will become such famous,” he added.
Pakistan registered a remarkable 75-run victory against England at Lord’s in the opening Test of four matches series in 2016.
