Srinagar, May 18: Umran Malik on Tuesday revealed the secret behind his punch celebration in an interview with Bhuvneshwar Kumar after Sunrisers Hyderabad’s thrilling win against Mumbai Indians.
Malik said every time he would take a wicket in nets, Dale Styen would bring out his famous punch celebration. Taking inspiration from him, Umran first tried to replicate it in the nets and then in the matches.
He said now he has got used to it. Umran on Tuesday picked three wickets by giving away 23 runs in his three overs. He played a major part in handing Sunrisers a close win to stay alive in IPL 2022.
The Jammu and Kashmir fast-bowler also jumped into the top four wicket-takers of IPL 2022 with 21 wickets under his belt. Sunrisers Hyderabad will next face Punjab Kings on May 22.
