
Srinagar, Aug 5: The viral video in which amateur long jumper from Pakistan Asif Machliwala, is seen leap over 11 motorcycles has caught the eye of track and field legend Carl Lewis.
The legendary athlete while replying to a viral video on Twitter said that the Pakistan’s Thatta-based aspiring athlete has the “perfect mindset” for long jumping due to his fearless approach.
For an untrained layman with no formal athletics training to cover such a massive distance has astounded everyone, including Lewis.
This was his response upon seeing the video:
Recently Thatta-based fisherman named Asif Machliwala video got viral in which he was seen successfully jumping over 11 motorcycles. .
“I have been doing this for fun and I believe that I can easily touch the 25-feet mark in the long jump, though I have never measured it,”The News quoted him as saying.
“The video on Twitter was sort of a fun activity in my native town in Thatta. I am fond of athletics and want to become an athlete. I help my father in the fish business and we travel between Karachi and Thatta for the purpose,” he said.
The matter was brought to the knowledge of Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) President Maj Gen (r) Akram Sahi, who took little time in reaching out to the talented youngster.
