Pattan : Wanigam Blues lifted the 3rd edition Wanigam Premiere League-2017 trophy defeating Wanigam Reds in the final by 4 wickets played at Wanigam playing field today here.
Batting first Wanigam Reds Scored 147 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in alloted 20 overs.Muneer Baba were the highest contributor with bat playing a knock of 38 runs while irfaaq Khan added 22 runs for Wanigam Reds.Ansar Scalped 4 important wickets for Wanigam Blues.
In reply Wanigam Blues lose their first 2 wìckets early but the bowlers of Reds failed to maintain the situation and Wanigam Blues chased the target of 148 runs in 17.2 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.Irfaaq played a splendid knock of 79 runs off 53 balls with 3 sixes and 11 fours while irfan added unbeaten 22 runs for Blues and Irfaaq was named as player of the final for his superlative match winning knock.Aadil Nazir were highest wicket taker while Irfaaq Khan were the highest scorer throughout the league and both were jointly awarded with man of the series award.
Sports Correspondent Kashmir Images Zeeshan Pervaiz was the guest of honour on the occasion presented winning trophy to the Wanigam Blues Captain and Well Known english Commentator of Tehsil Pattan Mohammad Shafi Parra, Mohammad Yousif Shiekh (Ex-Cricketer),Namberdar Wanigam Gh.Mohi-U-Din Khan, Advocate Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Vice Chairman Wanigam Cricket Association Fayaz Ahmad Mir and Mohammad Ashraf Malik were the other guests present on the occasion and distributed prizes among the players.
In the tournament 16 teams had participated and the tournament was organised by Irfaq Mohi-U-Din Khan.
