Vijay Hazare Trophy: JK collapses from 232/5 to 246 all out, suffer shock defeat

 

J&K senior cricket team suffered shock defeat at the hands of Chattisgarh as they collapsed from 232 for the loss of five wickets to all out for 246 runs suffering, 6-run defeat in the match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy match at Hyderabad on Friday.

After having restricted Chattisgarh to 251 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in allotted 50-overs , J&K were cruising towards another win the tournament when collapse happened. The two run outs of Parvez Rasool and Shubham Pundir triggered the collapse with Manzoor Pandav failing to bring JK home when 18 runs were needed of 20 runs from 18 balls.

At one time JK were 232 for the loss of five wickets needing 20 from 18 balls. First Pundir who scored 44 got run out and then on very next ball Pandav gave his wicket away after scoring 24 runs. The last three wickets could survive for much with JK getting all out for 246 runs , suffering six run defeat.

Earlier Ahmad Banday played brilliantly scoring 75 run knock while as skipper Parvez Rasool scored 44 before getting run out.

In bowling Ram Dayal and Umar Nazir had picked 3 wickets each for JK while as Parvez and Mohammad Mudhasir took one each.
