Srinagar, Sep 3: The senior Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has hailed youngster Haider Ali for his performance and composure during Pakistan’s third T20 against England.
In the match debutant Haider Ali scored 54 off 33 balls, which included five fours and two sixes.
Hafeez himself was named player of the match for his not-out 86 in Pakistan’s 190-4. Pakistan won by five runs at Old Trafford, Manchester.
“He (Haider) was good under pressure and just expressed himself,” said player of the series Hafeez in a post-match interview with Sky Sports.
“I was just trying to back him every time, tell him ‘you are playing well, continue like that. It is great to see youngsters coming from our system and performing well,” he added.
Haider came to bat when Pakistan were 2-1 but he batted with maturity and shared a stand of exactly 100 with Hafeez, who made his debut for Pakistan when Haider was not even born.
Pakistan leveled the T20I series 1-1. Earlier they lost the three-match Test series 1-0.
