Though J&K tasted defeat in the match but the one talented player stole the show by slamming defiant knock of 152 runs against Himachal in the second inning of their Cooch Behar trophy match at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium, Amtar on Wednesday.
J&K in their second inning were bundled out for 264 runs thus suffered a defeat by an innings and 39 runs. In the J&K inning it was the Qamran Jalal who launched the lone battle while batsman kept falling at the other end.
Though J&K, lost match, Qamran went on to score 152 run fighting knock that included 26 boundaries and one six. J&K in its first inning had scored 200 while as Himachal in reply had amassed 503 runs.
Qamran is talented young cricketer of state, who already has scored century in the event. It was his second century of the season. He ishe reckoned highly in J&K cricket circles and soon we may see him playing Ranji trophy side as well.
Earlier in his career while being U-16 level cricketer he performed brilliantly for J&K and was selected for North Side.
He was the star performer for north zone side, leading them to emerge as Inter-zone cricket tournament champions.
Hailing from downtown area of Safa Kadal he scored 210 runs for north Zone in the event. Now he is proving his worth for J&K side in Under-19 event this year.
