Bandipora, June 27: An unplayable spell of spin-bowling by Azhar Amin Saturday powered Friends XI to the finals of U19 cricket tourney at Janwara, Sopore.

The youngster ran through the Muslim Cricket Club Janwara batting line-up after they decided to bat first. The openers although started well, once Azhar was introduced into the attack, the game took a sharp turn.

The Bandipora native kept his line and length tight, making batsmen try different things to get the scorecard going. He was well supported by the pace-duo of Urooj and Adnan, who scalped a brace each.
Janwara finished up scoring meagre 89 runs while losing all their wickets.

In reply, Friends XI openers responded strongly. They attacked the fragile looking bowling attack of Janwara. Faisal Farooq scored quickfire 39 runs while as Mohsin Ahmad also made 38-run cameo.

With this win, Friends XI made it to the finals of the tournament.
