Delhi,Dec 18: Jammu and Kashmir earned vital first innings lead of 16 runs against formidable Delhi in the Vijay merchant under-16 Boys Cricket Tournament, organised by the Board of control for cricket in India(BCCI) at Feroz Shah Kotla Cricket Stadium, here today.
Earlier,after resuming from an overnight total of 220/6,Delhi batsman were going great guns and took the score to 339/6,when Praful was introduced into attack.He plotted Delhi collapse to bundle them out for 367 runs,thus helping J&K to gain a vital 16- run first innings lead.For Delhi,Mayank Gusain was the top scorer with 122 runs, while Vipul Kapoor,Shubh Sharma and Archit Bakshi contributed 67,40 and 37 runs to the total respectively. Abhijit Singh and Nitesh Awana also chipped in with 24 run each.For J&K, Praful was the pick of the bowlers,who took 3 important wickets by conceding 19 runs in 9.3 overs,while Mujtaba yousuf and Sampark Gupta beg 2 wickets each by giving away 72 runs each in 28 and 17 overs respectively.Javed Ahmed and Raghav Sharma also claimed 1 wicket each.Skipper Abdul Samad bowled 21 overs and conceded 84 runs without taking a wicket.
