Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood Shah said the training programme would help the state to utilise the services of these trained people during disasters.
“We have always witnessed that these people who are trained in adventure activities are at the forefront in the rescue operations. Our state is prone to disasters like floods and earthquakes and we need manpower during such calamities. This program will help us get trained people to rely on during such eventualities,” said Mahmood Shah.
Shah said during the program, the participants were made aware about the latest techniques and equipment used in rescue operations.

“We also conducted many mock drills for rescue operations,” said Shah.

The department is planning to organise more such events for students.
