Srinagar: Pakistan young pacer Naseem Shah has undergone surgery on his injured shoulder and has posted message for fans, urging them to support Pakistan team in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
Naseem had sustained the injury during a match against India at the Asia Cup 2023 last month.
Medical examinations indicated a muscle injury in the shoulder region, unrelated to any previous shoulder issues.
Post-surgery, Shah has been advised a period of rest lasting four to six weeks, followed by a gradual rehabilitation process.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) verified the injury’s severity, resulting in Shah’s withdrawal from both the Asia Cup tournament and the 2023 World Cup. Hassan Ali was named as his replacement.
Naseem Shah’s recovery timeline indicates a prolonged absence from the cricketing scene, with an estimated return to action in three to four months.
Meanwhile soon after undergoing surgery Naseem Shah posted video for the fans. He briefed fans about the process and recovery. He also urged fans to support team in the World Cup.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m recovering well. Your prayers and well wishes have been my strength. Thank you all for your support,” Videos caption posted by Naseem Shah on X read.
