Sports Council orders probe into mismanagement, chaos

Shaken by the total chaos and mismanagement that marred its race against child abuse that was conducted on Sunday, April-2019, J&K State Sports Council has ordered probe into the incident.

The race for the age group of five to 15 years held by Sports Council in Srinagar on Sunday was marred by chaos, mismanagement followed by pro-freedom slogans by the students and parents that accompanied the participants.

Seeing no arrangements available during such a race that involved thousands of participants, students resorts sloganeering followed by removing the Shamiyanas and throwing away refreshments. Sports Council officials were seen hiding in the adjacent Physical Education Department of Kashmir University building while some were seen running.

As the race turned out as a failure and major embarrassment for the Council, it has ordered probe into the matter.

In an order issued, Secretary J&K State Sports Council has appointed two member committee to probe the incident.

“A committee comprising of Chief Accounts Officer and Administrative Officer, J&K State Sports Council is hereby constituted to conduct the enquiry towards mismanagement /chaos arised on conduct of race against child abuse  held at Srinagar on 21-4-2019. The committee will furnish report within one week period and fix the responsibility for the persons involved in the mismanagement / chaos arised on conduct of race against child abuse,” order reads.
