Srinagar, April 30: Jammu and Kashmir cricketer, Ahmad Banday, Friday said the silence of celebrities on the current Covid-19 situation is both sad and disrespectful to the families who are losing their loved ones.
The second wave of Coronavirus pandemic has badly hit India with over 3 lakh cases being reported everyday. As not many celebrities have openly spoken about the devastating situation, Banday took to his social media handle to express his disappointment.
“The silence of all the celebrities on the covid situation right now is just plain sad and disrespectful to all the families who are losing their loved ones every minute 🙏🙏,” Banday wrote on his Facebook account.
Ahmad has been a regular part of J&K side in various state-level events over the years. Meanwhile, the Indian Premier League is also happening amid the worsening Covid-19 situation in India, which has led to backlash.
Several people have also expressed dissatisfaction about top cricketers being not vocal enough about the current happenings.
