The State Football Academy (SFA) Inter Academies Football League 2017-18 for Jammu cluster concluded on Wednesday at MA Stadium, Jammu.
The three teams of various age categories, which emerged victorious in cluster Jammu qualified for the final round likely which will likely held from 1st May this year.
Almost nine matches were played in this cluster under three age groups 13, 15, and 18 respectively in which two teams of SFA Jammu (U-18 and U-13) and SFA Kathua (U-15) qualified for the final round.
However, SFA Samba teams couldn’t make it to the final round although had exhibited a professional football throughout the league and were applauded by the spectators and guests for displaying quality football.
During the last match of Jammu cluster, OSD with Secretary State Sports Council and Member of SFA, Mushtaq Ahmed Baba was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The event was also graced by the Members of Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC), Professor B A Shah, and Rauf Tramboo, besides Manager JKSSC, Ashok Singh.
Moreover, the teams from three districts, Jammu, Samba and Kathua respectively were placed in Jammu cluster.
Jammu Cluster was organised under the supervision of Organising Secretary, Satpal Singh, Match Commissioner, Iqbal Singh, and General Coordinator, Vishwamitra.
The SFA coaches were given the responsibilities of officiating matches and the panel included Sanjay Sharma, Deeraj Menia, Dil Bahadur, Dushant Sharma, Nikita, Pooja, and Khushboo besides physiotherapist Dr. Abhinav Gupta.
The matches were played under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association and as per the rules and regulations of All India Football Federation and FIFA
The first of its kind, SFA-Inter Academies Football League 2017-18, being played at cluster wise is organized by State Football Academy of Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council.
Teams from almost 20 District Football Units are participating in this league under three age categories comprising of U-13, U-15, and U-18 respectively. The teams are further divided into eight clusters and the champion team of each cluster from each age group will likely qualify for the final league round likely to be played from 1st May at Srinagar.
Moreover, the matches in seven clusters will likely start from next week this month.
