In the ongoing inter group football tournament event semifinals were played at Islamia College play field here today. In the first semifinal ICS Greens defeated ICS Whites in the penalty shootout after both the teams scored a goal each in the allotted time.Faisal scored for Whites and Rashid for Greens in the allotted time. But in the penalty shoot out the Greens players kept their nerve and won the match 4-3 goals. Hyder, Hamid and Basit scored for Greens and Youhan and Momin scored goals for Whites team.
In the second semifinal ICS Oranges defeated ICS Reds in the tie-breaker by 7:6 goals. The teams were tied with one goal each at full time. In the allotted time Asrar scored for ICS Reds and Farhan equalized for ICS Oranges. The play was extended up to tie breaker after all penalties were converted into goals by respective players for their teams. But in the second tie breaking penalty the Reds player faulted and lost the game. For Oranges Shariq,Farhan, Salim,Irshad,Zahid,and Adnan converted their penalties and for ICS Reds Asrar, Azan, Irfan, Zeshan, Shahid did it. The finals of the tournament will be played between ICS Greens and ICS Oranges at 11:00 am sharp on Thursday.
