Skipper Aakif Reshi scored two goals as J&K thrashed Himachal Pradesh by 5-1 goals in its last group match of North Zone Santosh Trophy tournament at Shardah University Noida on Saturday.
Playing its last match of the qualifiers, J&K bounced back strongly after going down 1-0 to Punjab by outplaying Himachal by 5-1 goals. It would have been 5-0 if not for the own goal scored by Shahid that gave Himachal consolation one goal.
For J&K skipper Aaakif Reshi scored 2 while as Asif, Raja Musharaf, and Furqan scored one each.
With this JK ended its campaign in the event with one win, one defeat and one draw. Punjab is likely to qualify from the group for the main round.
