Hosts Islamia College of Science and Commerce defeated Government Degree College (GDC) Sopore in the semi-final of the Inter-College Cricket Rolling Trophy tournament at Islamia College ground Hawal here on Tuesday. They will now take on Amar Singh College in the final of the Kashmir Division.
After winning the toss, hosts Islamia College skipper elected to bat first. They scored 154 runs for five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Muneeb Munaf again was the most successful batsman scoring 66 runs not out in 56 balls and Imtiyaz chipped in with quick fire 21 runs. Zubair took two wickets while as Owais and Saleem took one wicket each for GDC Sopore.
In reply GDC Sopore, could score only 108 runs only in 20 overs losing seven wickets in the process. For them Zubair scored 27 and Babar 21 runs. Sopore College lost match by 45 runs. Imtiyaz took three and Muneeb took one wicket for Islamia College.
Muneeb Munaf was awarded the man of the match for his brilliant batting. He received award Chief Guest former Principal S P College and member J&K Sports Council Prof. Bashir Ahmed Shah.
The tournament which is sponsored by J&K Higher Education Department is organized by Department of Physical Education The Islamia College of Science and Commerce. The final match will be played between Islamia College and Amar Singh College for overall inter college cricket champion of Kashmir division.
