J&K Ranji trophy team will be taking on Jharkhand in the fifth round of the Group-B Ranji Trophy tournament at Jamshedpur on Thursday.
J&K so far has suffered three massive back to back defeats in the tournament while as held Rajasthan to draw. The morale and momentum of the J&K team would be at its low this time and the clash with hosts Jharkhand is going to be crucial to bring back the respect that they surely deserve.
The fans, cricketers have been harsh in their criticism. Social media has been abuzz with the criticism of players and the J&K cricket Association for their dismal performance in all forms of cricket ranging from Ranji to under-19 level.
J&K so far has failed to perform as team in both batting and bowling. The best bowler of J&K in the season has been Parvez Rasool. He has taken 20 wickets in four matches and stand at 3rd place in wicket takers list. In Batting it is Ahmad Banday with 268 runs who is J&K top run getter. Shubham has got 216 while as Parvez 200.
Apart from that none has been justifying their talent and place in the side so far.
The coaching staff is sitting idle and is not getting for doing nothing. While players sweat it out in middle coaches are with the team on paid holiday.
The players seem to be concerned about their performance and that is visible in their status of being low profile on their respective social media accounts. They will want to end season on high with solid performances in last two matches of ranji season.
It is also to be seen what will be changes. Will J&K give chance to the players like Mehjoor, Aquib , Umer Nazir who have been waiting in the wings to be to playing-XI.
