Jiyaad Magrey on Saturday scored a ton while Yawar Hasan also made 94 after Vanshaj Sharma picked up 6 wickets on day two to get Team ‘B’ back in the game of the ongoing JKCA multi-day trial match being held at Hostel Ground, Jammu.
Magrey, the left-handed batter who is making his comeback to the senior side, ensured he makes it count. Yawar too has been scoring runs on a consistent basis while Vanshaj once again returned with a brilliant performance.
Earlier, Team A was bundled out on 80 runs on day 1, to which Team B responded with 280, gaining a lead of 200 runs. For them Samarpit Raina scored in seventies while Arnav Gupta and Nasir Lone made runs in forties. Vanshaj remained the pick of the bowlers, grabbing a 6-wicket-haul for Team A.
Despite conceding huge lead, Team A made a strong comeback in the second innings with Jiyaad Magrey setting the tone. The opener made a hundred while Yawar Hasan too supported him tremendously for his 94 runs. At day two stumps, Team A was 260-3 with a lead of 60 runs.
For Team B, Waseem Bashir picked up two wickets. The trial match is jointly being held for senior and U-23 categories for the selection of Ranji Trophy and CK Nayudu Trophy.
