Ranji Trophy: Kerala stretches lead to 91 before rains intervenes

Hosts Kerala stretched their lead to 91 runs with nine wickets in hand before rain interrupted the second days of Ranji Trophy between J&K and Kerala.J&K ranji Trophy team

At the end of days play, Kerala were on 45/1 with first inning lead of 91 runs against J&K. J&K in its first inning in reply to Kerala first inning total of 219 runs were bundled out for 173 runs.

J&K got off to solid start with opening duo of Shubham Khajuria and Ahmad Banday putting up partnership of 82 runs. However once that stand was broken J&K inning went awry with wickets falling at regular intervals. J&K inning collapsed from 82 without any loss to 173 all out. They conceded first inning lead of46 runs. Khajuria with 41 was top scorer for them while as Bandeep Singh scored 39. Banday scored 35 while as Parvez Rasool scored 28. Akshay KC took four wickets for Kerala while as J Saxena and S Joseph took three each.

With two full days of play left in the match, Kerala are in strong position to register an outright victory against fragile looking J&K. As J&K batting has failed now in consecutive five innings Kerala are favorites to win the match.
