Srinagar: Rahul Singh scored unbeaten maiden first-class century while as Shamsher Yadav scored unbeaten 72 run as they punished JK bowlers on the first day of the four day Ranji trophy match at Jaipur on Thursday.
Services, who chose to bat, ended the day on 287 for the loss of three wickets with Rahul and Shamsher Yadav having added 199 for the fourth wicket. Parvez Rasool, the offspinner, picked up two wickets in the first session in what was to be a small passage which went JK way at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium. Ram Dayal had earlier picked first wicket of the day for JK.
The duo of Rahul and Yadav played brilliantly and thrashed JK bowlers all over. At the end of day’s play Rahul was unbeaten on 127 having faced 181 deliveries smashing 15 boundaries. Yadav was playing on solid defensive knock of 72 runs that took him 182 deliveries.
