Ranji Trophy: JK jumps to 2nd spot with Goa win

 

J&K jumped to second spot in the points table of Ranji Trophy Group-C after defeating Goa by 116 runs in the match at Surat on Saturday

J&K with seven points are placed in second place in points table just behind table topers Himachal who also have got seven points. The net run rate is the only difference between two sides. From the match JK got six points. They had only one point before the game.

In the match JK defeated Goa by 116 runs on the third day of the play with Parvez Rasool taking five wicket haul. In the second inning chasing target of 411 runs, Goa got all out for 293 runs. For JK, Parvez took five wicket while as Amir Aziz took two, Samiullah and Umer Nazir took one each.

In the first inning Goa had bundled out for 77 runs in reply to JK’s 227. Ram Dayal took four, Nazir three, Parvez two.

In the second inning JK had posted 261 thanks to knocks from Bisht who scored 87, Ian Dev 64, and Shubam 44.

In first inning it was Parvez Rasool who played gem of the inning scoring 82 from 83 while as Ian Dev scored 67. JK were all out for 227.

Parvez was adjudged as man of the match for his all-round match winning display.
