LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) lawyer has claimed that problems for cricketer Sharjeel Khan in the spot-fixing case have increased after the statement of an England National Crime Agency (ENCA) official.
Talking to reporters after attending the PCB Anti-corruption Tribunal hearing on Friday, the counsel added that NCA operations manager Andrew Ephgrave’s statement proved that Sharjeel had not played the two dot balls on merit in the opening match of the second Pakistan Super League.
He said cross-examining of both the lawyers in Sharjeel’s case had been completed and now they would submit their written replies before the tribunal.
Meanwhile, Sharjeel’s attorney claimed Ephgrave’s appearance would not make any negative impact on his client’s case.
He said the ENCA official said during the cross-examining by him that he had been in contact with the PCB for the last five months.
