Away from home, star cricketer of J&K, Parvez Rasool continues to impress in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League-Bangladesh making valuable contributions to his side Legends of Rupganj by both bat and bowl.
On Friday Legends defeated Brothers Union by seven wickets to climb to second place in points table. Parvez contributed with crucial two wickets in his 10 over quota and then scored winning runs to remain unbeaten on 7.
After having single handedly won two matches with bat for his side by playing unbeaten knocks of 61 and 88, Parvez didn’t got enough chance to bat in the following matches as top order did well. However he has been playing crucial role with the bowl. This year in the league Parvez has got scores of 33, 8*, 61*, 88*, 6*, 32 and 7*.
In total, he has scored 235 runs with an average of 117. In seven innings he has been out only twice. In bowling, Parvez has been equally impressive by taking eight wickets in seven matches. Apart from that he has been miserly economical and his team has opted him to bowl during initial powerplay.
It is second season for Parvez Rasool in the league that is considered top One Day event in Bangladesh. Last year after being ignored in Indian Premier League (IPL), Parvez went on to join Gazi Group Cricketers in the Dhaka League. He was brilliant for the Gazi group by piling up runs and also taking loads of wickets. He was top all-round performer in the league last season and was in good demand this year too. After another IPl snub this year, he again opted to play in Dhaka League for Rupganj. Among the Indian cricketers like Yusuf Pathan, Ukmut Chandh only Parvez has been impressive among the foreign stars.
“I will go anywhere to be part of the top leagues and learn new things,” Parvez said.
