Srinagar: Pakistan rising extreme pace bowler Ihsanullah has said that his aim is to try bowl fast and become regular member of Pakistan squad.
The tall pacer who made his debut against Afghanistan said that he doesnt aim to break Shoaib Akhtar’s record but looks to develop himself into World class bowler.
“Shoaib Akhtar is our legend and nobody can break his record. I will try to bowl fast alongside working on good line and length,” Ihsanullah said in a media interaction on Saturday at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
In the Afghanistan series Ihsanullah took six wickets and was the highest wicket-taker in the three-match T20I series. On that back of that Ihsanullah has been retained in the T20I squad against New Zealand. Additionally, due to his impressive performance in domestic cricket, he has also received his first call-up for the ODI squad.
“I try to grab every given opportunity. I aim to perform according to my strength and win matches for my team,” he said. “I am working with Umar Gul and trying to learn from him as much as I can.”
During the series against Afghanistan, Ihsanullah gained attention when he struck Najibullah Zadran in the jaw with his delivery.
“I went to him and said sorry in Pushto,” Ihsanullah shared with the media.
