Waseem Raza, the left-arm spinner, took four wickets to help J&K end their campaign with a 23-run victory over Punjab.
Asked to bat, a combined effort from their batsmen helped J&K post 164 for 3 in 20 overs before Raza spun a web around the Punjab batsmen to bundle them out for 141 runs in 19 overs.
The opening pair of Bandeep Singh (33 off 31) and Jatin Wadhawan (35 off 35) added 63 to give J&K a sedate start. The two struck at nearly 100, but laid a decent platform for the middle order.
Harbhajan Singh (2 for 12), the Punjab captain, got rid of Bandeep and Shubham Pundir (0) off consecutive deliveries to bring his side back into the game. Having lost their top three by the end of 13 overs, J&K were in a spot at 86 for 3, but an unbeaten 78-run association between Manzoor Dar (38* off 33) and Ian Dev Singh (43* off 22) provided a much-required boost.
In reply, Punjab lost Mandeep Singh (12) early but Manan Vohra (53 off 46) and Gurkeerat Singh kept the scoreboard moving at a good pace. However, once Raza sent back Gurkeerat for an 18-ball 34, Punjab lost the plot and lost their last eight wickets for just 66 runs.
For J&K, Raza returned figures of 4 for 16, while Umar Nazir Mir claimed 2 for 36.
