NEW DELHI: Justice R M Lodha panel has submitted its report to the Supreme Courtaccusing BCCI of defying the apex court orders and impeding reform implementation. Lodha panel in their report have asked the removal of BCCI top brass and appointment of administrator to implement reforms. The Lodha panel said though the six month deadline set by SC for implementation of reforms is fast approaching, the BCCI is not cooperating in drawing up a firm road map for this.

SC bench headed by CJI TS Thakur tore into BCCI for daring to defy implementation of SC mandated reforms. Thakur said: “SC will not allow BCCI to defy court orders. We will pass appropriate orders to set you right.” SC went on to say that the BCCI is bringing the system into disrepute and if it can dare to defy SC then the allegation of irregularity in Board could be true.

“You (BCCI) are behaving like Lords. Fall in line otherwise we will make you fall in line,” SC told BCCI. SC has given the Board time till October 6 to respond to the Lodha panel’s stinging report accusing board of stalling reforms at every step.

TOI had earlier reported that the Lodha Committee got together in New Delhi to discuss the potential repercussions of the BCCI going ahead with last week’s AGM (September 21), despite a clear “no” from them. The meeting discussed the violations, specifically the election of secretary and appointment of a five-member selection committee.
