Srinagar, June 15: A local trekker, Hilal Ahmad, has gone missing while on trekking to Gangbal, his family said on Monday.
As per family sources, the Srinagar native had gone to trekking with his friends to high altitude lake of Gangbal, starting from Naranag.
However, in the midway enroute to lake, owing to fatigue, he had stopped and asked his friends to go ahead while he would wait for them. Upon return, his friends couldn’t find him, sources in family said.
A relative of him also took to Facebook, saying Hilal is missing.

An official of Jammu and Kashmir Mountaineering and Hiking Club (JKMHC) said although they had no knowledge of this group going for a trek to Gangbal, they have requested the local authorities to look into it.
“We didn’t know him nor had any information of this group going to Gangbal. We came to know about it today, I talked to Tehsildar Kangan, they have dispatched police to look for him, besides locals too are looking for him. His scooty is parked at naranag.” Official said.
