KPL-I trophy unveiled in Riyadh

Kashmir Premier League (KPL) Trophy was on Thursday unveiled at a grand opening ceremony held in Swiss Royal International Hotel in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. During the ceremony, the jerseys of the teams were also unveiled.

The first season of this cricketing extravaganza is being organised by Non Resident Kashmiris (NRKs) living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia while the league matches will begin from October 6, 2017.KPL saudi

Captain of Anantnag Avengers Abha, Majid Bashir, started the proceedings of the opening ceremony with the recitation of the verses from Quran which was followed by introductory speech by CEO of the KPL Samiullah Najar.

All the proceedings of the ceremony was fed live on its facebook page fb.com/kplsaudi which got good response from the viewers especially from Kashmiris.

Najar informed the gathering how difficult it was to take this step besides the challenges they faced to make the first ever such kind of sporting extravaganza a reality for the Kashmiris living and working in the Kingdom.

In his speech, he thanked title sponsors HalaYalla, KPL partners specially Rising Kashmir, team managers, KPL players and all followers of the league from all over the world.

Operations Manager of KPL Ishfaq Bhat gave a beautiful presentation about full story of KPL journey in which support videos of CEO Saudi Cricket Centre Nadeem Nadwi and Kashmir’s International Cricket star Parveez Rasool were displayed.

Bhat further explained about the partnership of KPL with its partners like Technology Partner – Cricclubs, Affiliated cricket board – Saudi Cricket Centre, Media Partner – Rising Kashmir, Design Partner- Salman Shah and Sports Partner-Java Sports.

In the opening ceremony Founder of title sponsor HalaYalla Faheem Bakshi distributed KPL jerseys among the team captains, which was followed by unveiling of KPL Trophy.

General Manager of KPL Sadat Bashir thanked whole Kashmir community for showing their support to KPL in Saudi Arabia and back in valley.

The aim of organising the KPL in KSA is to bring Kashmiris living in the Kingdom together at one place and have fun. The event would be a social gathering of Kashmiris away from their home while also watching their own brethren and loved ones play cricket.
