Ganderbal, June 14: Leh under-17 girls on Friday pipped Baramulla by 2-1 to lift the Khelo India inter-district football tournament held at Ganderbal.
After making it to the finals, both Leh and Baramulla displayed a scintillating show of football. However, lastly, the girls from Leh took the charge, scoring two goals. Baramulla also pulled off one though as the referee whistled, the opposition triumphed the title.
The tournament was organised under the aegis of Khelo India and almost all the districts participated in the championship. Later, mementos and awards were given to the finalists.
