In order to promote sporting excellence and to formulate a long term sports policy the Central University of Jammu has constituted a Sports Advisory Council.
The order in this regard was issued by the Registrar of the University after approval of Vice-Chancellor Prof Ashok Aima.
The 12-member council comprises of top sports achievers and experts of International standing from the State shall be headed by the prof Deepak Pathania, dean of Students welfare (ex officio) and co- chaired by ace sports administrator and former J&K Cricketer Ranjeet Kalra.
Among other members include, Chief Sports Officer of J&K State Sports Council, Haji Abdul Qayoom, International Wushu player and Indian Coach Kuldeep Handoo, Resident Secretary of the J&K Football Association Surinder Singh Bunty, International Water Sports expert from Kashmir Bilquis Mir, Director Sports Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Ashok Kumar, Former Ranji Trophy player and sports promoter Rajesh Gill , Accomplished sports medicine specialist Dr Narinder Bhatiyal, Former cricketer and member JKCA Rajesh Dhar, SP Singh former International Player and Gymnastics Coach of India and Dr Bacha Babu Asstt.Prof MCNM, CUJ .
The advisory council would advice the Vice-Chancellor and the university on matters relating to sports infrastructure, tournaments and coaching, sports calendar, camps, formulation of sports policy.
