Shubham Khajuria struck a brisk half-century to help Team A defeat Team C in the opening match of the JKCA T20 trial matches, currently underway at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar.
Batting first, Team A posted a competitive total of approximately 190 runs, with Khajuria emerging as the top scorer. He received solid support from Danish Hilal, who chipped in with a valuable knock of around 40. Ritik Singh was the pick of the bowlers for Team C, claiming two wickets.
In response, Team C managed to put up around 165 runs before being restricted by a disciplined bowling performance. Openers Ahmad Banday (around 40) and Arya Thakur (around 30) gave their side a decent start, but the rest of the batting line-up couldn’t quite keep up with the required rate. For Team A, Sheezan took two wickets, while other bowlers chipped in with one apiece.
The scores are based on inputs from various sources, as official figures have not been released.
The JKCA T20 trials, which kicked off today, will continue till July 8. The participating players were shortlisted following open trials conducted earlier across the Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
