JKCA Sr Men’s League: Muneeb Munaf hits 100 in Team Purple’s win

Muneeb Munaf scored a match-winning hundred in the first match of ongoing JKCA Senior Men’s League at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Srinagar on Tuesday.

Playing for Team Purple, Muneeb showed great composure, mixing caution with aggression to help his team secure a big win of 140 runs against Team Orange.

Batting first, Team Purple posted a challenging total of 290 runs on board, thanks to Muneeb’s 128-run knock. Later, bowlers ensured Team Orange never gets back into the game with regular strikes.

Team Orange could only manage 150 runs in the chase. Pacer Junaid Farooq scalped three while spinner Imtiyaz Ahmed took two wickets in the bowling department.

It was the first match of the JKCA Senior Men’s League — a trial tournament where selected players from the U-23 age group and ‘recognised’ senior category players have been distributed into four teams who would clash with each other.
