JKCA administrators arriving on Tuesday

The two administrators of J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) appointed by the J&K High Court are arriving here on November 21 to start the process of setting JKCA house in order.JKCA

The High Court had on October 13, appointed Justice C K Prasad, former judge of the Supreme Court and Justice Syed Rafat Alam, ex-Chief Justice of MP and Allahabad High Courts, as administrators of the JKCA for conducting free and fair elections of the association within two months.

The Court had also directed the administrators to ensure that the rules of the JKCA are amended in conformity with the recommendations made by the Lodha Committee which has already been accepted by the Supreme Court. In that regard the Court had also directed the Board of Control for Cricket in India, and the association to render all assistance to the administrators for effectively performing their duties.

The officials in JKCA on Friday said the administrators would stay in Srinagar for two days. They would visit Jammu on November 28 and 29.

Sources said administrators are in touch with the people associated with Jammu and Kashmir cricket and have received enough inputs about the JKCA functioning and problems.

“Their arrival will definitely kick start the process of putting JKCA house in order and making it a body that it should have been. However, they have been doing their homework since the day they were appointed administrators by the Court. They are well aware about the process on how to start their work,” sources said.
