Srinagar, October 22: J&K Under-19 opener, Arya Thakur, has been selected to play in the upcoming Challenger Trophy.

The left-handed batter is the only J&K cricketer to get a call-up in one of the six teams for the tournament.

JKCA sub-committee member, Anil Gupta, confirmed this development on Twitter.

“Young stylish left arm opener Arya Suvansh Thakur who recently played in Vinoo Mankad Trophy selected by BCCI for Men’s Under 19 Challenger Trophy 2021-22 to be held at Ahmedabad. Well done Arya. Play well and get recognised at national level. We are proud of you. @BCCI,” he wrote.

Arya made 193 runs—most from J&K— in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, earning a place in India ‘D’ team for this tourney.
